Build slate · free

Working software built on your business, before you pay anything.

I study how your company runs, build three or four tools on it, and hand you the links. If one is worth building out, you get a fixed price. If not, you owe nothing.

What you get

The same five things, every slate.

  • Three or four working toolsEach on its own live link that opens on a phone or a laptop. Real software your team can click through, not screenshots of it.
  • Built around your businessYour services, your workflow and your words, running on sample data shaped like yours.
  • One page that walks through themA showcase your team can pass around: what each tool does, who it’s for, and a way to try it.
  • A fixed price for anything you pickChoose a tool to build out and you get a written scope and one price. No hourly meter.
  • No invoice for the slateIt costs nothing to look. There’s no deposit and nothing to sign.

How it works

It’s free because building a working demo now costs me less than writing a proposal used to. So I skip the proposal, and you judge the real thing instead of a promise about it.

  1. You tell me about the business

Use the form below. A link to your site and a few sentences on what your team spends its week doing is enough. A short call helps, but it isn’t required.

  2. I study how it runs

Your site, your industry and the software you already pay for. I’m looking for the jobs that eat the most hours: the re-keying, the chasing, the spreadsheet everyone is afraid to touch.

  3. I build three or four tools

Each one is real software on its own link, built for the way your people work. If your website is what’s holding you back, a rebuilt site can be one of them.

  4. You decide

Open the links, show your team, try to break them. If one is worth building out, you get a fixed price in writing. If none is, you owe nothing.

What a slate can hold

Every slate is different. These are the tools that come up most.

  • Intake and onboarding portals
  • Dispatch and scheduling boards
  • Quoting and estimating tools
  • Inbox and document copilots
  • Dashboards over the software you already use
  • A rebuilt website
  • A brand film or product loops

Questions

Is the slate really free?
Yes. There’s no deposit, no contract and no invoice for the slate itself. You only pay if you choose a tool to build out, at a price you’ve agreed to in writing.
What do you need from me?
A link to your site and a few sentences about your business. If you can point at a specific headache, even better. A call is welcome but optional.
Do you need access to our data or systems?
No. Slates run on sample data shaped like yours, so nothing sensitive leaves your building. Real connections come later, and only for a tool you decide to build out.
Who builds it?
I do: Nehemiah Drook, in Indianapolis. When a tool grows into a full platform, the team at HoosAI, my AI-systems company, builds it with me.
What does building one out cost?
It depends on the tool, so every build gets its own written scope and a fixed price before any work starts. No hourly meter.
Who owns what gets built?
You do. The finished work runs on your domain, your hosting and your accounts, and the code is handed over at launch.
Can a slate include a new website?
Yes. If your site is the bottleneck, a rebuilt site can be one of the tools in the slate.
Do you work with businesses outside Indianapolis?
Yes. The studio is in Indianapolis and the clients are wherever they are.

Ask for your slate

Tell me what your business does and where the hours go. I read every message myself, and I’ll write back with the tools I’d put in your slate.

No deposit. Nothing to sign. Just the tools.

You get three or four working links built on your business, and a fixed price for any of them you want to keep.
